  • Friday, 5/31 to Saturday, 6/1 — Green Film Festival presented by Clean Valley Council in their Grandin Village headquarters and at the Roanoke EnVision Center. These free films highlight ecological issues that affect our world. Find more information at this link.
  • Friday, 5/31 to Sunday, 6/2 — Not Your Average Weekend: Lost in the Flowers presented by The Humble Hustle Company and event curator Not Your Average Everything in various locations in Roanoke City. The weekend includes a Friday block party, Saturday festival, and Sunday brunch to benefit Humble Hustle’s inner city youth empowerment initiatives. See the special section below for more details.   • Friday, 5/31 to Sunday, 6/2 — Roanoke Lebanese Festival at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church (4730 Cove Rd. NW, Roanoke). Features delicious Lebanese food, Lebanese music, traditional Lebanese folk dancers in full costume, children’s activities at a nominal fee, and tours of the church.   • Friday, 5/31 to Sunday, 6/2 — 11th Annual Troutville Trail Days at Troutville Town Park (5374 Lee Highway, Troutville). Features local vendors, artisans, guided hikes on the Appalachian Trail, tubing trip on the river, thru-hiker support, food, music, and free camping for the weekend. Dogs are not allowed in the park. Housing for dogs will be available adjacent to the park for thru-hikers only.
  • Saturday, 6/1 to Sunday, 6/2 — 66th Annual Sidewalk Art Show at the Taubman Museum of Art (110 Salem Ave., Roanoke). Held on the streets immediately surrounding the museum, all of the works exhibited are for sale including original paintings, prints, watercolors, etchings, mixed media, fine art photographs, fine crafts, and sculpture.   • 5:15 p.m. — Landsdowne Plawk presented by Roanoke Plawkers at Roanoke EnVision Center (2607 Salem Turnpike, Roanoke). Plawk (verb): To pick up litter while walking. Take a 45ish minute walk together and collect litter along the way. Anyone/everyone is invited to show up and pitch in. All cleanup supplies will be provided.

Located along the Pigg River at Waid Park, this family friendly 5K will take you off the beaten path onto what some may call a pig path.
