In 'Restoration' of Northwest Roanoke, Goodwill To Transform Campus Into Community Hub Anchored By Grocery Store
After 25 years of waiting, Northwest Roanoke residents will soon be able to shop at a community-based grocery store selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
Goodwill Industries of the Valleys on Tuesday announced a major, $21.5-million project to turn its 100,000-square-foot jobs campus on Melrose Avenue and 24th Street into a community hub.
Called Melrose Plaza, the facility will be anchored by a full-service grocery store, and include a banking center, health clinic and free high school for adults.
