Four lanes of speeding cars, crumbling sidewalks and a smattering of crosswalks contribute to Williamson Road’s distinction as Roanoke’s deadliest street for pedestrians.
Now, state and city officials are looking to improve a stretch of the Northeast Roanoke corridor with bike lanes, new sidewalks and two lanes of traffic with a wide center turn lane.
Through Monday, residents can give feedback on an online survey on whether the city should pursue state funds to make changes to the thoroughfare.
